Blackstock Boneyard
Two brothers return from the dead to get revenge in this horror film based on a true story that answers a “what if”.
In 1915, South Carolina farmers Thomas and Meeks Griffin were executed for the 1913 murder of John Q. Lewis. However, they were wrongly accused and were forced to sell their farm to pay for their defense in the trial. One hundred years has passed, and four friends are headed for the town of Blackstock, South Carolina.
Director Andre Alfa On His New
Horror Film ‘Blackstock Boneyard’
We spoke to director Andre Alfa about his new film Blackstock Boneyard, releasing June 8 from Uncork’d Entertainment.
When did this project come to be? It came to be what it is today January 2013.
And the inspiration? The writer Stephen George and I were looking for something new and became intrigued with the idea of wrongful, state executions. We delved into that subject and came across the Griffin Brothers. Two prominent and wealthy black farmers in the South 100 years ago who were deliberately targeted for their land. They were wrongfully executed for a crime they didn’t commit and had their 138 acre farm stolen from them by the town judge and a few others. Everything other than them coming back from the dead really happened. Their story was tragic and captivating on its own, but when considered against the backdrop of today’s socio-political climate regarding race and injustice and our own feelings on the matter, the project was just too relevant and important to ignore.
Release date: Blackstock Boneyard will be released in the USA on DVD & Digital by Uncork’d Entertainment on June 8, 2021.

The Donaldsonville Chief
Although set in South Carolina, the crew chose Donaldsonville as the filming location because of the beautiful historic district. Almost every scene in the movie will be filmed in Donaldsonville, and crews will be hard at work for the next three weeks. A store on Railroad Avenue, the courthouse, and Gaston’s Pub are some local spots that can be seen in the film.
